District 2 Representative News

September Report:

Hooray it’s September District 2! I hope that everyone is back in school and enjoying their new classes or their new students! Now that school is back in session so is HOSA. Even though HOSA never truly stopped and took the summer of but once back in school HOSA is more obviously available and I encourage every one of you to attend your first HOSA meetings. If you have not had local elections yet I inspire you to run for a position. Take a part in HOSA functions coming up as well as Fall Leadership Conference and District Conference. Fall Leadership is a wonderful opportunity to run for a district office position. As a district officer you have the ability to meet new people, inspire your classmates and district HOSA members, learn more about HOSA, learn leadership skills, speaking skills, and have more chances to help your community as well as yourself, and so much more! Fall Leadership is held for District 2 at West Brunswick High School on October the 11 th. I look forward to seeing you all there! Fundraisers are readily available at every HOSA school in District 2. These fundraisers are an incredible opportunity to raise money for your schools HOSA which pays for awards ceremonies, HOSA functions, as well as so much more. Fundraisers are also a wonderful chance to earn money to pay partially or fully for a trip to State Leadership Conference in Greensboro on March 23 rd-26 th. With the effort your advisors put in to set up these fundraisers you should take part in them they are initially set up to help you. Also depending on how much effort you put in to each fundraiser you have the ability to earn money to pay for National Leadership Conference as well which is held this year in California. HOSA has so many possibilities and I encourage all of you to take part in them. Also for all seniors I encourage you to go to the HOSA website www.hosa.org to apply for HOSA scholarships you have the ability to receive. Thank you all HOSA members for all that you do. For this month I ask each and every one of you to introduce HOSA to one of your friends or your local doctor to join either as a student or as an alumni or professional HOSA member! September is a very important month with all that in titles a new year of school also entitles a new year of HOSA. Get more involved then you were last year in HOSA, take chances by running for a leadership position, get more involved in fundraisers, attend all HOSA functions, and over all be the best HOSA member you can possibly be. As your District 2 President I represent you and am here for you so if any of you need any help of guidance or just someone to talk to, I am here. To contact me my email is pareedy0211@yahoo.com. Thank you all HOSA members and advisors!

Sincerely and Thorough Blessings,

July & August Report:

Hello fellow HOSA members I’m writing to you to inform you of the past month of July as well as plans for the month of August. Over the month of July we have begun our plans for the upcoming year. The State Service project has been chosen and it is Victory Junction. If any school officers in district 2 would like to start something in the beginning of the school year for Victory Junction maybe a fundraiser or if any local chapters would like to maybe take a trip there to volunteer. Victory Junction is a wonderful organization focused on giving back and we HOSA members are the people to give back to our community, our state, and people who need our help. Also another goal for our upcoming year is to raise our membership and to do that we state officers need your help because without every HOSA member our organization would be nothing.

I encourage all HOSA members to talk to your friends encourage other students to join HOSA this year! Tell them the millions of opportunities that can come from joining HOSA! Another goal for this year is to begin starting new HOSA chapters at new schools in our district. We are working on setting up meetings to start these chapters and if any member has any ideas to raise our membership please contact any state officer we would love your help and I am always available to hear any of the members thoughts. For this upcoming year I encourage you to get involved more in HOSA then last year if you have not had elections yet for your school run for a school leadership position or if you have run for a school office think about running for district office or even state office. All HOSA members have other students there to support them if you’re worried or need any help in running for any office you have a support system behind you.

Now is the time to get involved and to get motivated in HOSA. With the upcoming year coming sooner and sooner it never hurts to start thinking about this year to come. Also for all upcoming seniors HOSA has wonderful opportunities for scholarships!! If you go to the National website you can look at all the scholarship opportunities. We are also in the process of starting new Facebook groups for each district. I am begging to start a District 2 HOSA Facebook group once I start it I will inform all District 2 members so you will be able to join! If you are in another district you should check and make sure that a group has not already been made that way you can join your districts HOSA group. With this upcoming school year arising very quickly Districts and Regional’s are coming.

If you have not decided on what competitions you would like to compete in or will continue competing in I inspire you to look into competitions or preparing yourself for the competitions you have ahead of you. I know that the best way to grow from past mistakes is to practice and there is no better time to start something new then right now today. I inspire you to start the year off right with HOSA and with everything you do this year. I Patreece Reedy your District 2 state officer am here for you! I hope you have an incredible beginning of the year and start it off right! Thank you officers, students, advisors, HOSA volunteers for your service and your leadership as well as participation! As school approaches don’t forget to thank your advisors for everything they do every year for you the students and members of HOSA. I hope you truly enjoy the month of August and the upcoming school year! God Bless.
