District 4 Representative News:
September Report:
Welcome to another great school year! HOSA events are rapidly approaching. This year's Fall Leadership will be held on October 18, 2010 at Methodist University. One of the main purposes of Falll Leadership is to elect district officers. Now is the time to be discussing possible candidates from your school to run for District Office. The experience is awesome! I was District 4 Treasurer for the 2008-2009 school year! It was amazing. Please feel free to coontact me with any questions regarding running for District Office. Also, please read our state newsletter, the HOSA Impulse, for a more detailed article about running for office.
We all know HOSA is a great organization full of opportunity, experience, and leadership. But we all know where a great deal of our excitement comes from: COMPETITION! That's right. It's time to get ready for District Competition. This year's District Competition will be held on November 2, 2010 at Western Harnett High School. Hopefully everyone has begun preparing! No matter what the event, HOSA events help prepare members for healthcare careers.
Also, teachers, Jaci Watson is the treasurer of District 4. All dues and such will be sent directly to her. Her information is listed below.

August Report:
Hello District 4 HOSA!
It's about that time! SCHOOL TIME! If you haven't already started, school is right around the corner. Time for class, sports, and HOSA!
Our state service project for this year is Victory Junction. Check out the NC-HOSA website for details! As school nears, begin thinking of fundraising ideas for your chapter! BE CREATIVE! There is no limit for fundraising. Just be sure that you engage other students from your school! Partner with another student organization, host a bake sale, a sporting event, a mini carnival! Like I said, there's no limit!
Our National service project is JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). There is also information about JDRF on the NC-HOSA website. They host walks all across North Carolina. Consider having your chapter attend one of the walks. If that isn't possible, go to your HOSA kitchen and pour a cup of creative juice! :)
Whatever fundraising you plan to do, get your community involed! Take pictures and write a story for your newspaper or invite a local news station to cover your fundraiser. Get HOSA in the media! We know how great of an organization HOSA is. Let's show everyone else how great HOSA is!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

July Report
:
We all know HOSA is an amazing organization, but imagine nearly 7,000 HOSA members gathered together in beautiful Orlando, Florida networking, competing, and hanging out with Mickey and Minnie. That's what I call the Magic of HOSA! The 33rd National Leadership Conference was an amazing experience. North Carolina did an excellent job at NLC. We had several students walk away finalists and even champions! Students from District 4 did an awesome job as well. Congratulations to everyone! A special congratulations goes to Westover High School for having all of their delegates place in the top 10. Another special congratulations goes to Western Harnett High School for an outstanding Chapter Newsletter! Next year's NLC promises to be just as exciting and is to be held in Anaheim, California. It's never too early to begin preparing!
