Shayna Mooney Hey everyone! I am Shayna Mooney your North Carolina HOSA Vice President. The 2009-2010 school year will be my third year as an active HOSA member. I am a junior at South Central High School in Winterville, where I represent District 1. I run cross-country and am also involved in the student government, Science Olympiad, and various honor societies at my school. After graduating from high school, I plan to attend Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, Rice University or Stanford University. Following that, I plan to achieve a double post graduate degree: M.D. and MBA. I want to be a successful and caring medical doctor who can also manage the business aspect of my practice. I would like to further my career and work for the World Health Organization (WHO) which provides leadership on global health matters and research. I would also like to create my own non-profit organization which benefits AIDS orphans in Zambia, Africa. My passion in life is helping others and guiding them to make a positive impact in the world. My advice to you is to always have the courage and strength to stand up for what you believe in, even when others have a different opinion. Follow your heart, and your dreams and passions will never be left behind. Dr. Seuss says it best, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” |

Victoria Humphrey Hey y'all! My name is Victoria Humphrey and I am your 2009-2010 NC HOSA District 2 Representative. I live in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. I just recently graduated from West Brunswick High in Shallotte, North Carolina. I will be attending North Carolina State University this year. I plan on majoring in political science at NC state and from there go on to Campbell University for law school where I want to specialize in medical malpractice. My favorite quote and one I try to live by is Mark 5:36 "Don't be afraid, just believe." My faith is important to me, it keeps me going. When I decided to run for a state officer position I was scared of failure. However, being in HOSA has taught me so much and most importantly it has taught me to believe in myself and to believe in causes that I think are worthwhile. I am very excited about the upcoming year in HOSA. Together we are creating better health care systems for the future. Thank you so much for allowing me to serve you as a state officer. |
