Fall Leadership

District 5 and District 7 participated in a joint Fall Leadership Workshop October 1, 2009, sponsored by NW AHEC at the WFU Bridger Field House. The following schools attended: Atkins, Bartlett-Yancey, Career Center, Cedar Ridge, East Forsyth, Forbush, Jordan-Matthews, Ledford, Mount Airy, NF Woods-Mooresville, North Davidson, North Forsyth, Northwood, Patton, Person, Reidsville, Rockingham County, Smith, South Iredell, Southern Alamance, Southern Guilford, Southwestern Randolph, Starmount, West Davidson, and Western Alamance.

Sessions were presented by College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC.org), North Carolina Health Careers Area Program (NC-HCAP), Area Health Education Center (NW AHEC), and NC State HOSA Officers, Breanna Younger and Chase Edwards. A total of 213 students and 29 advisors were present. A luncheon was sponsored by NW AHEC. NC HOSA Advisor, Faye Cress, also attended.

New district officers were elected: Matthew Rollins, Jessica Frazelle, Brooke Baldwin, Aaron Reid, and Larry Sullivan.

Advisors participated in a short workshop lead by Katherine Sapp, WS/FCS Special Populations Coordinator.
