The 33rd Annual HOSA National Leadership Conference was held in Orlando, Florida June 23-26, 2010. Over 7,000 HOSA delegates, guests and judges convened in Orlando at the Coronado Spring Resort to celebrate the conference. There were 5,000 competitors.

The Congressional Delegation supports HOSA’s commitment to the development of future health professionals. HOSA recognized New Jersey HOSA for being the first state to find co-sponsors for the House Resolution 2946, The Healthcare Professional Pipeline Act.
HOSA was extremely honored to have the Acting Deputy Surgeon General, Rear Admiral David Rutstein in attendance at this year's
Opening General Session. He is a strong voice for HOSA and takes our message to the halls of Washington as an advocate for the future of health care leaders. HOSA is indebted to him for his support and friendship.
HOSA welcomed 40 exhibitors to this year’s NLC. Exhibitors include Applied Technologies, Health Professions Network, Autism Speaks, Pocket Nurse, U.S. Army and many more. Exhibitors were on hand to share current and future expectations of the healthcare industry with HOSA delegates.

Scholarship Recognition
National HOSA awarded 50 members with scholarships totaling $55,750. In addition to the national scholarships, HOSA state associations awarded $514,850 in scholarships this year. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients present at the 2010 HOSA National Leadership Conference.

The Outstanding HOSA State Leader from North Caolina is Shayna Mooney from South Central High School in Greenville.
Linda West, Plymouth High School, was recognized as the Outstanding HOSA Advisor for North Carolina.

Each year, the Voting Delegates select the theme for the next year. The 2010-2011 theme is "HOSA: The Hearts that Believe and the Hands that Achieve." submitted by Illinois HOSA.
The voting delegates from all the represented states elected eight outstanding individuals that will lead National HOSA for the 2010-2011 year. The newly elected National Executive Officers are:
