Hello to all,

I hope this note finds all of you doing well. It is time for our students to register for HOSA Regional competitions. I am very excited and I hope all of you are as well. My students seem to really be getting into preparing for their events. The regional leadership conference will be January 31 st at EA Laney High School in Wilmington. The address is 2700 North College Road Wilmington NC.

I have enclosed a form for you to use when you send me your registration information. Please remember that I want the registration by December 19 th, not postmarked by the 19 th. Please remember that we all agreed on the $25 and $50 late fee. There are a lot of preparations for the HOSA event. I will also be moving into a new school building over the Christmas holiday break. Please have mercy on me with the timeliness of your paperwork and please limit the changes as much as possible. In the registration mailing, please include an official member roster from the HOSA website. I have to verify that the competitors are paid HOSA members. E A Laney HOSA members and their advisor Sonya Thigpen are working diligently to make sure that this is a wonderful day. Sonya is coordinating with local vendors to make sure that students have access to food on the day of competitions. Please remind your students that lunch is not provided but food will be for sale on this date. Right now she has heard from the Wilmington Trolley Stop for their famous hot dogs. They are a Wilmington tradition. She has also coordinated with Chick-fil-a. I will continue to update you on food availability for that date through the NC HOSA website. Remember to go there for up to date regional information. www.nchosa.org

I also need to fill some spots with those advisors that did not attend the fall leadership event. Please realize that it will require all advisors to assume a role to make the event work. If you have a preference as to what event you help with, please let me know and I will accommodate those requests as much as I can. Please let me know if you plan to bring judges with you. We need all the help that we can solicit.

We are allowed to decrease the time on Extemporaneous Health Poster from three hours to two hours at the regional level. If you have students who register for this event, please inform them of this change to the guidelines.
